This course is suitable for engineers working on trucks with voltages of 120 V DC or 50 V AC or more.
The learner will be competent in the following:
- Describing safe working practices as outlined within the electricity at work regulations 1989
- Describing the hazards applicable to high voltage equipment
- Identifying hazards and complete a risk assessment
- Explaining what personal protective equipment is required
- Explaining why insulated tooling is recommended and test leads and probes are incompliance to HSE GS38
- Describing safe Isolation and stored energy
- Explaining procedures for working on, or near live equipment
- Describing the testing methods prior reintroduction into service
- Undertaking accurate documentation, reporting and record keeping
- Understanding UKMHA Guidance Note 70
Knowledge assessment to be completed
Certificate of competence to be issued
