The UKMHA announces theme for National Forklift Safety Day 2024

National Forklift Safety Day is one of the UK material handling sector’s most important initiatives, aiming to spread awareness about the significance of operator training and the safe use of forklift. Beginning on June 11th, this year’s online campaign is supported by the theme ‘Prevent – Manage – Learn’.This succinct tagline reflects the UK Material Handling Association’s (UKMHA) ambition to educate people about what to do before, during and after an incident.

National Forklift Safety Day is one of the UK material handling sector’s most important initiatives, aiming to spread awareness about the significance of operator training and the safe use of forklift. UKMHA welcomes rise in number of operators receiving accredited training

The UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA) is pleased with the news that 2023 saw a more than 100,000 industrial truck operators obtaining training from providers accredited by the Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA). Data released by the ABA reveals that approximately half of that number took part in refresher training, an encouraging finding indicating that there is a clear commitment to enhancing workplace safety among forklift operators.
