Thorough Examination New Engineer

For experienced engineers, this course is only open to engineers already able to inspect mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components of a forklift truck.

The learner will be competent in the following:

• Definition of a competent person as described within the regulations and CFTS.
• Inspection criteria for lift chains and fork arms
• Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)
• Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)
• How to conduct Thorough Examinations as described within the CFTS quality procedural code

Knowledge assessment to be completed
Certificate of competence to be issued
Revalidation required every 5 years – ID card issued
