Lift Truck Hydrostatic Transmissions

The learner will gain a thorough understanding of hydrostatic transmissions covering the following:

• Basic principles of hydraulics
• The construction and components of a hydrostatic transmission
• The construction and operation of hydraulic pumps and motors
• The operation of transmission speed and direction control
• Interpretation of component symbols and circuits.
• How to prepare equipment for use in diagnostic testing.
• How to conduct systematic testing and inspection of transmission system, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems using appropriate tools and equipment including, multi-meters, and pressure gauges.
