Lift Truck Electrical Training – Part 1

The learner will gain a thorough understanding of:

• Health and Safety – electrical safety awareness, safe isolation
• Principles of electricity – electrical units, ohms laws and basic circuits
• Principles of electromagnetism and DC motors
• The safe use of a multimeter to test components and interpret circuit values
• The meaning of a short circuit, open circuit, bad earth, high resistance,
• Lift truck earthing methods and insulated return systems.
• The operation of electrical and electronic sensors, actuators and their application
• The operation of traction and hydraulic control circuits for various types of DC motors, plugging braking, regenerative braking and flyback circuits.
• How to interpret basic lift truck wiring diagrams
