One of the fundamental goals for the UK Material Handling Association is to promote the highest standards of safety across the material handling sector.

“The arrival of the UK Material Handling Association is a gamechanger for the industry with our strong focus on improving safety standards.” - Tim Waples, CEO, UKMHA.

The association’s strong focus on improving standards of safety and service across the sector builds on the work undertaken by the UKMHA’s founding members, the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) and the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA); BITA through initiatives such as National Forklift Safety Day and the FLTA through the Forklift Safety Convention, its Safe User Group and the annual Safety Drive.
