Available exclusively to Safe User Groupmembers, Safer Site Pro comprises 26 steps offering advice, guidance, and a series of practical tasks to be completed – and supported by valuable resources and relevant real-life case studies.

The course shows managers and supervisors overseeing fork lift operations how to assess their site’s safety and how to make tried-and-tested improvements – often at little or no cost.

Health & Safety Newsletter

Delivered as an e-newsletter and issued every 2 months, this vital publication contains up-to-the-minute information on best practice and legislation for people operating or working around a fork lift truck. The format is informal to make the information accessible to a broad readership, from managers and supervisors to operators and drivers. We also publish online safety videos that your staff can watch which present important safety issues and topics in a clear and coherent way.

Technical Bulletins

Aimed at operators and managers/supervisors, Technical Bulletins take a detailed look at fork lift regulations, legislation or general issues of common concern, and present them in the form of easily understood guidance and/or explanations.

Convention

This annual event aims to increase awareness of safety and delivers a wealth of practical tips, advice and guidance.  Safe User Group Members receive a 20% Discount to the Safety Convention and may also take part in a range of exclusive workshops and events.

Members’ Magazine

Issued three times a year, UPLIFT is the in-house magazine of the UKMHA and keeps Members fully up-to-date with new developments including new legislation, health and safety guidance and Association news.

Guidance on Legislation

Members will be sent changes in regulation as and when these occur, but are also regularly advised on best practice advice. Bulletins are published to give guidance on new legislation and fork lift regulations and Association staff are available to answer specific questions or offer general guidance.

Expert Helpline

If you have a forklift query, the UKMHA’s Expert Helpline is here for you! Free to all Safe User Group members, the Helpline is available during normal office hours. Providing a wealth of information on a broad range of issues relating to fork trucks, independent expert advice is just a phone call away.

Access to Specialist Publications

The Association offers a range of excellent publications, some of which are unavailable to the public. All publications are available at special Member prices.

Certificate of Membership, Code of Practice and Safety Charter

Each SUG Member receives a formal, framed certificate of membership, a Code of Practice and a Safety Charter to be displayed as an unequivocal statement of your organisation’s commitment to safety in the workplace. The certificate is renewed annually. The Charter is designed to be placed where the workforce can read it.

All SUG Members work to, and abide by, the Safe User Group Code of Practice, which governs the ethical and safety standards expected of all companies whose work involves fork lift trucks. The Code of Practice can be downloaded here.

The Safety Charter is a pledge made by all SUG Member companies that is designed to tackle fork lift safety head on. The charter lists a number of core principles and procedures that all safety-conscious fork lift companies should aim to adhere to. The Charter was created to improve workplace practices and reduce accidents and incidents, and can be downloaded here
